UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is by far one of the most dominant fighters in MMA history.
The Russian is known for mauling his opponents inside the cage thanks to his wrestling which is second to none.
For years many people have said that only an elite grappler can go toe-to-toe with “The Eagle”, but according to Renzo Gracie elite BJJ might not be enough in order to defeat Nurmagomedov.
Renzo is a mixed martial artist and 6th Dan black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and there’s a good chance he knows what he’s talking about.
“It’s very tough to fight Khabib on the ground, you know? That’s why he is the champion,” said Gracie. “He trains a lot of jiu-jitsu too. Every day, it’s a lot.”
Khabib’s next adversary is the Interim champion Justin Gaethje who is also an excellent wrestler. The pair is set to fight at UFC 254 in Abu Dhabi.
