Abdulrashid Sadulaev (-97 kg) has claimed another National wrestling title at the 2020 Freestyle Championship that took place in Naro-Fominsk this past weekend.
The four-time world champion hasn’t competed since February when he won gold at the Euros. Sadulaev won his first three matches via technical fall, conceding only two points.
The 2016 Olympic champion met Aslanbek Sotiev in the final, winning by 8-2.
“It was a National championship, which is no easier to win than the European of the World Championships,” he said.
“Of course, I had slightly different plans for 2020, but the Olympics moved to 2021, and now I have to prepare properly for the World Championship,” he added.
Sadulaev won the National title in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018.
