The city of Budapest will be hosting next year’s Judo Wolrd Championships.
The event will take place at Papp László Sports Arena from June 3th. The competition will be a qualifier for the Tokyo Olympic Games that are scheduled for July 2021.
Initially, Budapest had to host the 2022 World Championships and Tashkent was awarded the 2021, but László Tóth, the head of the Hungarian Judo Association, announced the news at the final day of the Grand Slam competition this past Sunday.
The lasttime Budapest was hosting the Judo World Championships was in 2017.
