With Errol Spence preparing to defend his titles against Danny Garcia next month, Spence held an open media workout which can be viewed in full above, thanks to our friends at Fight Hub TV.
For those who’ve been interested to get a glimpse of Spence’s current form, coming back from that scary car wreck, Spence goes through a training session and then fields some media questions. Check out some excerpts below…
Spence on if Garcia is the biggest puncher he’s ever faced:
“I don’t know that yet. I’ll see when I get in the ring December 5th. Good thing I’m not Adrian Granados or Amir Khan.”
On if he wants to get off to a quick start against Garcia:
“I’m just gonna feel him out. I don’t know how the first round gonna go. I’ma feel him out, if I can press, I’m gonna press, you know, do what I do, but we got a game plan. My coach got a great game plan…”
On if he had any doubts he’d be able to get back to this stage after surviving his car crash:
“It was a lot of uncertainty, I didn’t know what I was gonna do. I just knew that I was gonna keep training, go to Cleveland Clinic and go to any facility I can go to and talk to the doctors and get all types of brain scans and body scans and just make sure I was 100% ready to get in the ring. They gave me the OK, they said I’m good, I had no brain bleeding or anything, so now just ready to go.”
On what kind of statement he wants to make against Garcia:
“I’m gonna make an impactful statement. I guarantee you, it’s gonna be highlights everywhere on social media, all over TV channels, and everything like that. I’m gonna put on a great show, great performance, and I will get that W come December 5th.”
On what message he has for Manny Pacquiao and Terence Crawford:
“Line ‘em up. Line ‘em up. They already know who to talk to. I got one person to talk to, is Al Haymon. They got one person to talk to and we can get this fight on the road. So they already know after I put on this great show come December 5th, whoever else in my weight, let’s get it.
