It looks like Yoel Romero will continue his MMA career after all.
“Soldier of God” was released by the UFC after 7 years with the promotion and was on the brink of retiring, because no offers were made to him. Luckily for the 43-year-old, Bellator has shown interest in his kills and a contract is near, multiple sources report.
It is expected that Romero will make his debut in 2021 at light heavyweight, although a date or opponent are still to be announced.
“Soldier of God” becomes the second former UFC title challenger to join the Bellator roster, joining Anthony Johnson, who is also expected to make his promotional debut in 2021 in the light heavyweight division.
