FIAS President Vasily Shestakov and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin examined the construction progress of the International SAMBO Center in Moscow, Russia.
The ICS will have a three-mat competition hall with stands for 1,600 spectators, a training hall for three wrestling mats, a sports and fitness pool, a fitness center, a games room and a medical rehabilitation center, reports sambo.sport.
The architectural and technical feature of the center will be the opportunity to observe the competitions taking place in the Center from the street: steel inclined sheets will reflect and projection from the outside of the building. In preparation for construction, the experience of constructing similar buildings in France, Japan, Bulgaria and other countries was studied.
“No similar sports buildings have been built yet. Here we will be able to hold international class competitions,” Vasily Shestakov said.
It is planned to complete the construction of the International SAMBO Center in Luzhniki by the end of 2021.
