WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade will be defending his world title next month against Wales’ Liam Williams, Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn confirmed.
The bout will be taking place on April 17 in Florida, US.
Andrade, 33, was last seen inside the ring in January 2020. “Boo Boo” managed to defend his belt against the Irish Luke Keeler via TKO in the ninth round.
Williams, 28, is a former WBC silver champion and WBO Inter-Continental ruler. The Welsh fighter hasn’t fought since October 2020, when he KO’d Andrew Robinson in the opening round.
“April 17th, we’ll try and do Liam Williams against Demetrius Andrade. We’re just finalizing,” said Hearn to iFL TV. “April 17th is the date we’re working on for that card.”
