Japan has claimed a total of nine gold medals at the Tashkent Judo Grand Slam event that was held this past weekend in Uzbekistan.
The second Grand Slam edition of the year gathered some of the very best judokas from all over the world. Competitors from 5 continents touched down in Tashkent looking for silverware and Olympic qualification points.
Mongolia won two gold medals, while South Korea, Italy, and Belgium captured only one gold medal.
24 countries finished on the podium and altogether 35 were represented in the final block, over the three days.
