The highly anticipated return of the former heavyweight world champion Andy Ruiz has been postponed by one week, numerous American sources claim.
“El Destroyer” will be fighting against former world title challenger Chris Arreola in his first fight since December 2019. The American-Mexican last fight was a rematch against Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia.
Ruiz got beat up pretty bad by “AJ” and since then he switched teams and has been training with Eddi Reynoso.
Initially, Ruiz and Arreola had to face each other on April 24, but now the fight has been moved to May 1.
Even though there isn’t an official reason for the postponement of the bout, a lot of people believe that UFC 261 is the main reason for the new date. The MMA super event is being headlined by a rematch between Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal and it’s pretty obvious which event will get the better numbers.
