The construction of the International SAMBO Center and Boxing Center in Luzhniki is planned to be completed by the end of 2021. This was announced by Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for Urban Development Policy and Construction.
“We continue to develop the territory of the Luzhniki sports cluster. By the end of the year, we plan to commission the unique Martial Arts Palace. Symmetrical sports facilities – the SAMBO Center and the Boxing Center – are united by a common facade. Each center will function independently of the other, the flows of visitors do not intersect,” Andrei Bochkarev said.
The deputy mayor added that the capacity of the halls will be 3.6 thousand people. The main feature of the facility is the stained-glass glazing of the training halls. It will allow observing athletes outside the building.
The head of the Construction Complex clarified that the installation of monolithic structures of the building is 78% complete. Installation of internal engineering networks, construction of brick partitions are in progress.
“At the beginning of April, the floor slab of the training hall on the fifth floor will be poured, in the room of which an inclined mirrored ceiling will be installed. After that, we will proceed with the installation of 18-meter stained-glass racks, and then with the installation of stained-glass windows,” Andrey Bochkarev concluded.
The sports complex will correspond to the requirements of international associations and federations in boxing and SAMBO, and in terms of its content it will have no analogues in the world. The building will also be equipped with equipment for video broadcasting of the competition with the ability to connect a live broadcast.
