The highly anticipated light heavyweight Bellator championship fight between the champion Vadim Nemkov and the challenger Anthony Johnson won’t be happening.
The Russian and the American had to face each other in a semifinal bout of the Bellator Grand Prix tournament in the light heavyweight division. The fight had to take place on October 16 when Bellator 268 will be held in Phoenix, US.
Unfortunatelly, the 37-year-old Johnson won’t be fighting in the main event of the night due to a serious health issues. “Rumble” will be replaced by Lithuania’s Julius Anglickas. The 30-year-old fighter has a pro record of 10-1, as he was last seen in action in April when he defeated Gregory Milliard at Bellator 257.
The winner of the title fight will face either Ryan Bader or Corey Anderson — who will face off in the co-main event of Bellator 268 — in the tournament finals for the right to be crowned champion and to win the $1 million prize.
