Demetrius Andrade will defend his stripe against Jason Quigley. The bout will headline DAZN’s stream from “SNHU Arena” in Manchester, New Hampshire.
The left-handed Andrade will defend his WBO middleweight title in New England for the second time since he won it nearly three years ago.
“November 19, it’s me again,” Andrade said in a press release sent out by DAZN and Matchroom Boxing.
“Jason Quigley, world rated, good amateur pedigree, decent skills, comes to fight, and hats off to him, he’s actually willing to step in the ring with me, which you can’t say for any of these other so-called top guys. On November 19, though, I show him that there are levels to this game.”
In the co-feature, Uzbekistan’s Murodjon Akhmadaliev (9-0, 7 KOs) will defend his IBF and WBA 122-pound championships against Ronny Rios (33-3, 16 KOs), of Santa Ana, California.
Andrade will return to the ring seven months after making a mandated defense of his WBO belt against Liam Williams on April 17 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Quigley most recently edged Shane Mosley Jr. by majority decision in a 10-rounder May 29 in Las Vegas. He out-pointed Mosley (17-4, 10 KOs) on two scorecards – 97-93, 96-94 and 95-95 – in their closely contested fight at Mandalay Bay’s Michelob ULTRA Arena.
“I’ve worked my whole career to get into this position of becoming world champion,” Quigley said. “Demetrius is a great champion, but now it’s my time and that world title is coming back to Ireland.”
