A fight that was canceled some time ago will now replace another fight that was set to happen, but winds of fortune had other ideas.
The upcoming GLORY: Collision 3 event will be headlined by a GLORY heavyweight championship bout between the champion Rico Verhoeven and the challenger Jamal Ben Saddik. The fight night will take place on October 23 in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
Verhoeven, 32, had to square off against K-1 legend and former UFC vet Alistair Overeem, but “The Demolition Man” got injured and pulled off the fight.
Ben Saddik, 31, was on the undercard of the event, as he was preparing for a rematch with Romania’s Benjamin Adegbuyi. Fortunately for Saddik, he got promoted and will now headline the event.
This will be the third fight between Verhoeven and Ben Saddik. Both guys have one victory under their belts and now this one will decide everything. The trilogy between them had to take place in January at GLORY 77, but the Belgian-Moroccan challenger withdrew due to a back injury.
