Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez is just days away from one of the biggest fights of his career. The 31-year-old is fighting IBF super-middleweight champion Caleb Plant this Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Alvarez is the current WBO, WBA and WBC champion in this division and whoever comes on top will be crowned the first ever undispted king of the category.
The mega fight isn’t the only combat sports show that will be taking place on November 6 in Las Vegas. UFC 268 takes place the same evening with welterweight champion Kamaru Usman defending his belt against Colby Covington.
“The Nigerian Nightmare” has been vocal in the pas that he’d like to test his boxing skills against Canelo and in the recent days he renew the chit-chatter about a potential cross-fight.
“I think that’s something that would be the biggest ever in history,” Usman said to ESPN. “That’s what I’m looking to do. That’s something that scares me. That’s something that gets me up in the morning. That’s something that I might risk leaving my daughter for another twelve weeks for.
But Canelo, focused on his fight against Plant, simply rolled his eyes and replied: “Payday” when ESPN Deportes asked him for a reaction to Usman’s challenge.
