Three of the finest Bulgarian fighters – Atanas Bozhilov, Petar Stoykov and Dragomir Petrov, are training hard in Burgas for the 10th edition of the international professional fight nights SENSHI.
They are among the champions from 14 countries, who will compete on December 4th in Varna on the SENSHI 10 fight card.
“The preparation is going according to plan. We are training, there is only a little time left, we only need to lose weight now, a few more sessions to enter the category and we hope everything will go well,” admitted the world champion in kickboxing for professionals Atanas Bozhilov.
His teammate Petar Stoykov adds: “The preparation is difficult, we emphasize sparring, technique, strength endurance and I am 100% ready.”
Undefeated so far at SENSHI is Dragomir Petrov, who will also be part of the fight show:
“There are world-class athletes there. The best Bulgarian fighters are there. The circle of competitors is quite narrow, because it is quite difficult to get a field to perform in this particular ring,” said Petrov.
All three competitors realize that their participation in the fight show is very prestigious, because they will face multiple time world and European champions.
Atanas Bozhilov is one of the best kickboxers in Bulgaria. For many years he was a captain of the national kickboxing team, world champion in kickboxing for professionals. He has 7 SENSHI victories in a row and 1 defeat. Iron, as he is called, enters the ring against the European and world champion from Switzerland – “The Sniper” Philipp Hafeli.
“We know his strengths and his weaknesses, a tough opponent. He is moving forward, working on combinations, has a strong knee. I think there is nothing to surprise me,” says Bozhilov.
Petar Stoykov is only 25 years old, but is a record-holder for most appearances in the ring of SENSHI. In 2019 he won the tournament SENSHI CUP in Kamchiya, winning three fights in two days. On December 4, he faces the Portuguese Joao Pedro Silva a.k.a Kalashnikov.
“I know he is taller than me. He works well with kicks. I have made a strategy with my coach and I will show it in the battle. SENSHI is according KWU’s rules – they include throws, there are Muay Thai techniques, kickboxing techniques, elbows, knees, clinching and the fights become attractive.”
The 27-year-old fighter Dragomir Petrov is four-time national kickboxing champion and has three participations at SENSHI and all of them ended with great success. On December 4th, he will seek a fourth consecutive victory against Romanian athlete Tudor Potoroaca.
“I think it is in the top 3 in the world as an organization“, Petrov said.
