The ADCC West Coast Trials are shaping up to be one of the best tournaments of the year, and arguably the most talent-rich ADCC Trials event ever. The two-day tournament is slated for April 2-3 in Las Vegas, NV.
Recently, and handful of world-class competitors were announced as confirmed competitors for the ADCC West Coast Trials and, as promised, the brackets are stacked with talent.
The 66 kg. division already includes three time Trials silver medalist Keith Krikorian and ADCC veteran and 2021 no-gi world champion Gianni Grippo; Krikorian and Grippo battled in the semifinals of the East Coast Trials, with Krikorian winning by stunning last-second submission.
At 77 kg, East Coast Trials silver medalist William Tackett will have his hands full in a bracket that includes teammate Kody Steele, veteran 10th Planet competitor PJ Barch, and ADCC veterans Jon Satava and John Combs.
The 88 kg division sees the return of Daisy Fresh’s Jacob Couch, who will be expected to make it deep in the tournament with his top-tier leg lock game. That division also includes former Submission Underground title challenger Kyle Chambers and multiple-time Who’s Number One (WNO) veteran David Garmo.
The 99 kg division features Elder Cruz, fresh off his WNO win over ADCC silver medalist Nick Rodriguez. Cruz can look forward to a potential showdown with 2021 no-gi world champion Devhonte Johnson.
The women’s divisions are similarly loaded to elite competitors. East Coast trials champion Brianna Ste-Marie might be an early favorite at 66 kg, but she’ll have to get past the likes of no-gi world champions Nathalie Ribeiro, Tammi Musumeci, and Raquel Canuto.
And at women’s heavyweight, Kendall Reusing and Elisabeth Clay look like early favorites, but they’ll face stiff competition in the form of WNO veteran Erin Harpe and former UFC title challenger Cat Zingano.
