Polaris 19 takes place on Saturday, March 26, and the event is quickly taking shape. On Friday, the UK-based submission-only promotion announced that recent ADCC Trials winner Roberto Jimenez will face veteran black belt competitor Magid Hage in the main event.
Jimenez is widely considered one of the most entertaining grapplers in the sport. Known for his back-takes and submission-oriented approach, Jimenez impressed at the second ADCC South American Trials where he submitted five of his six opponents to capture gold, punching his ticket to the 2022 ADCC World Championships later this year.
Jimenez has previously competed at Polaris one time, when he represented Team USA at Polaris Squads.
Magid Hage best known for his work in the gi — particularly his dangerous baseball bat choke. But at the ADCC South American Trials, Hage showed he is much more than a gi player, making it to the finals of the first Trials, where he lost to Mica Galvao.
