A blockbuster fight in the heavyweight division between two of the most dominant champions in UFC history is being planned for this upcoming summer.
Former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones could be facing former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in a fight for the interim heavyweight belt. According to UFC President Dana White, that’s the plan and he’s sticking to it.
“I was just telling somebody the other day, our lineup for this summer is incredible,” White told TMZ Sports. “I’m hoping that Jon Jones is going to be a part of that lineup this summer.”
“Stipe makes sense,” White said when asked who Jones’ opponent would like be.
“Bones” hasn’t fought since February 2020 when he defeated Dominick Reyes via UD. Miocic, on the other hand, was last seen inside the Octagon in March 2021 when he got KO’d by Francis Ngannou.
