Mexico’s biggest sporting super star Canelo Alvarez will be facing Russia’s undefeated Dmitry Bivol this Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Canelo and Dmitry will be battling for the light heavyweight WBA title which is in possesion of Bivol. Yesterday the official weigh-in took place in Las Vegas with both fighters having no troubles at the scale.
The 31-year-old Mexican tipped the scale at 79.1 kg while his opponent from Russia came in at 79.2 kg.
“I like this kind of challenge. You can expect everything from me like always,” said Canelo immediately after weighing in successfully on Friday. “I’m going to give my best and try my best. Of course, I’m going to win.
“They make me so happy and motivated. Thank you so much. I’m so happy and so grateful with all my fans for the support,” said Canelo.
“Of course, it wasn’t my best performance against Craig Richards because I had a long rest, but that fight may be helped to get this fight,” said Bivol to iFL TV about his belief that his lackluster performance against British fighter Craig Richards gave Canelo the confidence to face him.
