The Junior World Championship is the next major event on the world calendar. The Arena Fedeguayas VPP welcomes the best juniors in the world this weekend. With 67 countries present and more than 470 competitors, plus 200 coaches and officials, it is a challenge for the Ecuador Judo federation.
“Guayaquil is the perfect location in which to receive the world’s best competitors, as it has been an international port town for centuries, welcoming visitors from all continents throughout its colourful history. It is here that we celebrate together the achievements of our juniors in the spirit of friendship and solidarity”, Marius Vizer, IJF President said.
Ecuador is a rich country in terms of diversity of landscapes and biotopes, from the Andes Cordillera, which crosses the country from one side to the other, to the Amazonian forest, passing through the Pacific coast and the Galapagos Islands further offshore. It is therefore the ocean coast and the city of Guayaquil, nicknamed the “Pearl of the Pacific” and founded in 1537.
In the press conference the importance of this world championship was underlined, not only because it brings together the best juniors on the planet and therefore represents the most important competition for this age group, but also because it will inspire generations to come.
