Former UFC Light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort will be fighting the son of former world heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman – Hasim Rahman Jr.
The pair will fight on October 15 in Sheffield, England, under boxing rules.
At the time the 31-year-old Rahman Jr was just coming off the first loss of his 13-fight professional career, suffering a fifth round TKO defeat back in April. He had secured 6 wins via finish during his prior 12-fight unbeaten run, though in total the combined record of his opponents had been just 56-116.
As for Belfort, he’s now 45-years-old, but still has shown a desire to compete since announcing his MMA retirement back in 2018 after a KO loss to Lyoto Machida in the UFC’s Octagon, bowing out with a 26-14 (+1nc) record.
Last year he took on an exhibition bout against heavyweight boxing legend Evander Holyfield and TKO’d him in less than two-minutes, though it was less impressive than it sounds as it was painfully obvious that the 59-year-old had no business competing any more, appearing slow, fragile and unsteady on his feet.
