Raul Rosas Jr. is the newest UFC signing. The 17-year-old fighter made headlines yesterday with his victory at Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Mando Gutierrez, securing himself a contract with the world’s leader in MMA.
Rosas became the youngest fighter to ever put his signature on a UFC contract and Dana White himself was impressed to say the least.
“What a war, what a technical fight it was,” White told reporters at the DWCS 55 post-fight press conference.
“Both guys pushed themselves as hard as they could. And for a 17-year-old to conduct himself the way he did in this fight, I was blown away by it.
“And I loved how active he was. He’s not one of these guys that’s a jiu-jitsu guy that just lays around, and whatever,” he added.
After picking up the biggest win of his career and making history by signing with the UFC at such a young age, Rosas Jr insisted that he will become the youngest-ever UFC champion.
“This is another step closer to my dream to become the youngest UFC champion,” he told the press post-fight.
“I know it won’t be easy, nothing is easy in this life, but I will become the youngest UFC champion, I don’t care what it takes.
“I will become the youngest UFC champion when I’m like 19, 20, 21, it doesn’t matter.”
