The “Fight Spirit” award went to Mihail Velchovski, despite losing to Eddy Ruiz. The clash between the two was memorable. The Bulgarian athlete deserves only admiration, as he had to replace Teodor Hristov only 24 hours before the match.
Velchovski: “Yesterday I found out about the upcoming battle. It was a bit stressful for me, but I went out and fought. I proved to everyone that it doesn’t happen overnight.”
Gregoire Gottardi took the „Best Technique“award after leaving no doubt about his superiority over Ivan Naccari and dominating throughout the bout.
The spectacle of the evening was undoubtedly the battle between Aleksandar Petrov and Frangis Goma. Both of them demonstrated extraordinary endurance, and the fact that the judge appointed an additional fourth round to determine the winner speaks for the equality of the fight.
To our delight, the triumph was for Petrov, who achieved one of the most challenging victories of his career.
Aleksandar Petrov: “I feel great. It was indeed a real war in the ring. I’ve needed a fight like this long enough to give myself beyond my means, and I finally got it.”
The Bulgarian fighters achieved three more victories. Dragomir Petrov against Alex Rodriguez, Atanas Bozhinov over Georgian Levan Guruli, and Mitko Iliev won on points over Frenchman Kevin Ruart.
