Tony van Dijk is coming to Bulgaria for his fight against Mariyan Dimitrov at SENSHI 18 where they are competing in the KWU Open 82 kg. division. The Dutch fighter stated before the bout that they studied each other as part of the essential part of being a smart contender.
“If he is smart and I believe he is, he must have studied me because we had time to do so. We are not just fighting, we are brawling. If you are smart you always study your opponent. I know I am coming to Bulgaria and I plan to focus on my self, have fun and show what I can do“, said van Dijk for Boec.
The Dutchman does not expect a hostile environment because up to now everyone is kind to him on Bulgarian soil. Even with Mariyan they shook hands and traveled together for the open workout.
“He is a strong Bulgarian and I believe that he’ll prove my expectations. I think he is coming forward with strong punches. I am also ready if he tries to take me down because as you know we in the Netherlands are well known for our striking. I expect a hard fight between two magnificent fighters and we are going to put up a show“, added Tony.
Van Dijk prepared himself to defend the takedowns with his coach Reinier de Ridder. He is the current light heavyweight champion at ONE Championship.
