One of Bulgaria’s biggest MMA names – Jivko Stoimenov, is making his debut at the international fight gala SENSHI this week. There he will face Cherif Drame in a KWU Open 85 kg. bout with huge expectations for a knockout in the early rounds. Stoimenov is the multi-national champion in MMA for Bulgaria and grappling, and in the professional ring he has a record of 14:6 with 13 KO victories. Boec reached him out to check on his preparation for the SENSHI 20 fight.
“Everything is going well. Now we are e week away from the fight and I am slowing down with the tempo so that my body can be fresh and ready for battle. I made my sparing sessions with Rosen Dimitrov. I was my whole camp with him. Yanko Borisov also took part in sparings and also Veselin Peychev. My grappling coach is Kristiyan Popov. Together we’ve done some great work. I think I have the best team around me so that I can upper my game“, shared Stoimenov.
His opponent Cherif Drame is a 35 year old fighter from Benin with a professional record of 7:3. He was never knocked out in his career.

“I was some of Drame’s fights and managed to study his style. He prefers fighting in stance position but also has some skills on the ground. His main weapons are his right arm and strong chin. I am not worried by the fact that he is 35 years old. I am the more experienced one. This comes with the more professional fights, and not with age. In fighting one punch can change everything. Expectations are high and I intend to live up to them“, Jivko added.
Stoimenov shared that he has a clear plan for the upcoming battle and he will follow it through in order to get to the victory. He is not going for the KO at any cost but believes that with this strategy it will come eventually.
