Bellator 221 takes place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois — this is technically in Rosemont, but it’s a Chicago suburb so this is Chicago enough — and it’s a very good card. The main event is a champ vs. champ “superfight” between two of Bellator’s greatest ever fighters, as lightweight king Michael Chandler takes on featherweight titleholder Patricio “Pitbull” Freire.
As for the rest of the main card, Michael Page and Douglas Lima will do battle in the semifinals of the welterweight tournament. Featherweight contender/prospect A.J. McKee gets a big step up in competition against ex-champion Pat Curran. Jake Hager, aka “Jack Swagger” returns for his second pro MMA fight against TJ Jones, while featherweight prospect Ty-wan Claxton faces James Bennett.
The entire main card is exclusively on DAZN. It should be noted that they moved up the start time by one hour, so instead of 10 PM ET like UFC 237’s PPV main card, it’ll be 9 PM ET. Here’s the full lineup for May 11th:
