When we talk about bodybuilding, there is always one name that comes up to our minds – Arnold Schwarzenegger. The ex-California governor was a trailblazer who made a lot of people rich.
But there is one other name that changed the game forever – Dorian Yates. The Walmley native took professional bodybuilding to a whole nother level in the late ’80s throughout the whole ’90s. Yates not only changed the scene, but he also gave the world a new vision of the sport and displayed a variety of new training methods and regimes.

He won the Mr. Olympia title six consecutive times from 1992 to 1997, basically destroying the competition during that time. Before Yates, people believed that there is some kind of limitation to this. But thanks to his brutal workouts and strict dieting, he changed the code. His thick back and monstrous shoulders made people scratch their heads and say “Is this real?”
He’s the first one to get on the pro stage weighing 112 kilos. Prior to Yates, Lee Haney is the heaviest dude out there with his 110 kg. “The Shadow”, as they call Yates, varies between 118 and 128 kg in his prime.
