WBA world welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (62-7-2) is now the WBA “Super” champ following his impressive performance against Keith Thurman (29-1).
The pair met at MGM Grand in Las Vegas last night with Thurman’s belt on the line. The 40-years-old “Pac Man” defeated “One Time” via SD (115-112, 115-112 for Manny and 114-113 for Keith).

The fact of the matter is, it wasn’t that close and the Filipino should have got the UD, but it is what it is. Pacquiao started blazing, throwing a lot of punches and moving like a 20-years-old. He knocked down his adversary at the end of the opening round. Thurman wasn’t passive or anything, but he couldn’t match Manny’s speed and astonishing feet work. “Pac Man” was cutting all kind of angles, landing shots at will and did everything he had to do, to not let Thurman get in the zone. In the second part of the fight, the 30-years-old managed to rally back, but the Senator got the better in the 10th and 12th to seal the victory.
It was Thurman’s first pro loss in his career, while Pacquiao is now on a three-fight winning streak following his shocking loss by the hand of Jeff Horn in 2017.
