Amanda Nunes entered the Octagon for defense of her 135-pound strap against former division queen, Holly Holm.
The battle of the two strikers was pegged as the co-headlining act at UFC 239 on July, serving as co-pilots for Jon Jones’ Light Heavyweight title defense against Thiago Santos.
Known for her precise striking thanks to her championship boxing credentials, Holly was confident she was more than capable of standing-and-banging with the UFC women’s champ-champ.
The victory gave Amanda her ninth straight, with remarkable stuns over Holm, Cris Cyborg, Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey.
Nunes will look for seventh consecutive championship victory when she faces de Randamie in the co-main event of the stacked UFC 245 fight card.
Amanda will go in with a bit extra confidence as she already has a win over “Iron Lady” way back in 2013.
