UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is fresh off the UD win he got over Yoel Romero at UFC 248 this past weekend.
The championship battle between two of the best fighters in the division will go down in history as one of the worst bouts ever. That being said, “The last Stylebender” should adjust his focus, because next in line is Paulo Costa.
The Brazilian was watching Adesanya – Romero live, as he said after the fight he was embarrassed and disappointed. Costa is now the number 1 challenger, as he defeated Yoel Romero last year, but he got injured and that made him inactive for some time.
“I am 100 percent right now,” Costa said. “I did light boxing sparing this morning. I feel great. The doctor says I am 100 percent free to go training hard, and I can fight in three months. But I think July 11 would be a nice date.”
The champion took side with the challenger saying that he’ll be ready to go in July.
“That sounds good to me. July is my birthday month. I can do that.”
In addition, Dana White said that “Costa vs. Adesanya will be a ridiculous fight”. No date has been suggested by the UFC President, as first Costa needs to be cleared by the doctor.
