In this conversation with Fight Hype, former world titleholder Amir Khan discusses his plans to get back in action before the year is out and says Kell Brook is the fight he’s looking towards. Of course, much in the fashion of Amir Khan, he tells the world that now is the time for Brook to step up to accept a fight against him as he wants to finish his last stretch of professional fights back in the UK.
On his plans to return to the ring
“I’m gonna fight end of the year, so I’m working on some dates now, I’ve started to do a little bit of training and stuff. I’d like to fight back in the UK, it’s been a very long time since I last fought there so I’d like to finish off my last few fights as a professional in the UK, it’d be nice to fight there in front of my fans.
“I see the Brook fight all day long. At the end of the day Brook needs to step it up and make it happen. I’m ready now so I don’t know why he’s all quiet. Let’s hope he doesn’t outbid himself, he’s gonna say that he wants more money. So, look, I’m ready. I’ve never been a fighter to turn down any fight. I’ve fought guys like Canelo, Crawford, I’ve fought the biggest names in the sport of boxing, do you think I’m scared of Kell Brook? Let’s make that fight happen.”
