Former unified heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz will be making his return to the ring this upcoming April.
The American-Mexican will fight former world title challenger Chris Arreola on April 24 in the headliner of a FOX PPV. The venue of the clash is yet to be confirmed.
Ruiz hasn’t fought since December 2019 when Anthony Joshua defeated him in their rematch via UD. The 31-year-old looked awful against the Brit – he was out of shape, couldn’t keep up with the pace of Joshua and his shots didn’t pack the same power he had six months ago when he shocked the world.
In the aftermath of the loss, Ruiz parted ways with Manny Robles and joined forces with Eddy Reynoso.
Arreola, 39, has been inactive since August 2019 when he got beat by Adam Kownacki via UD.
