Bulgaria will host the 2023 European Deaf Judo Championships. The event for athletes with hearing impairment will be held in Sofia from May 4-7.
“We had prepared a very professional and well-argued presentation on housekeeping, which was approved by all delegates. Over the years, we have always given maximum effort and good attitude to all international events from the European Organization’s calendar, and they have great confidence in us. The fact that we received the Continental Judo Championship is a high honor and prestige for us.”
“It is also very important for the whole deaf community in Europe. Bulgaria will show itself to thousands of people thanks to the live broadcast and we will make sure to present ourselves as an excellent host in the halls of the Lokomotiv Stadium in the capital’s Nadezhda district. We will also rely on the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. At the event in Belgium, we also received an excellent assessment of our work as a sports federation from the heads of the European headquarters of the deaf, which is also of great importance for our activity and the efforts we make for all our sports on the territory of Bulgaria,” said the head of the sports federation Federation of the Deaf in Bulgaria Nikolay Bozev.
Bulgaria will also host the Sofia European Open on 11-12 February.
