Unified world middleweight champion Saul Alvarez (52-1-2) will be meeting with his Golden Boy Promotions team this week to decide who will be his next adversary in the ring, according to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.
There are a number of candidates to face the 28-years-old Alvarez. The WBA “Super” world super middleweight champion Callum Smith (26-0), IBF world welterweight king Errol Spence Jr. (25-0), WBO world middleweight champ Demetrius Andrade (27-0), and of course the fight everybody is craving for – former unified world middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (39-1-1).
Canelo has already fought GGG twice with the first fight being an awful draw and the second a controversial win for the Mexican. GGG and Canelo are both under contract with DAZN which could be a massive boost for a potential trilogy, but as of this moment, there are no front runners.
Spoke to Golden Boy president Eric Gomez yesterday. Said the @GoldenBoyBoxing team will meet with @Canelo about opponents this week, likely Thursday. Added there is no frontrunner right now.

It’s a pretty sure bet that Canelo’s next fight will be around Mexico Independence Day (September 16). Possible venues are once again Las Vegas, New York or Los Angeles.
