Carl Frampton thinks Jake Paul will beat Tommy Fury

Former two division world champion Carl Frampton is backing Youtube star turned boxer Jake Paul to snatch the victory over unbeaten prospect Tommy Fury.

Their Showtime Pay-Per-View bout takes place on December 18 in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Fury had some struggles in winning a four round decision back in August, over combat sports veteran Anthony Taylor. On the same card, which took place in Cleveland, Paul won an eight round decision over former UFC world champion Tyron Woodley.

When sizing the two men up, Frampton is picking Paul to win.

“I think that it’s a huge fight and if I’m being honest, I’d probably favor Jake Paul in the fight,” said Frampton to Joe.co.uk.

“He carefully picked his opponents obviously and he’s not fought a boxer yet, but the first boxer he’s fighting is a guy who’s a relative novice in the grand scheme of things and who seems to have issues going more than four rounds.

“So I think that I would favor Jake Paul in that fight and then we hear him, as mad as it may sound, he’s beat a real boxer, although it’s Tommy Fury, he starts calling out Gervonta Davis, Canelo [Álvarez] it’s mental. But, yeah I’d favor him in the fight against Tommy Fury.”
