Charles Oliveira misses weight, loses lightweight title on scale

Brazil’s Charles Oliveira didn’t make weight at the official  UFC 274 weigh-in.

“Do Bronx” is facing the number one challenger for the lightweight belt Justin Gaethje this Saturday night in Las Vegas, but he won’t be able to walk away as a champion, even if he manages to beat “The Highlight”.

Oliveira tipped the scale at 70.5 kilos which is 200 grams over the limit. The champion had an extra hour to lose the weight, but he was unable to do it. Gaethje, on the other hand, had no problems at the scale and came in at 70.3 kg.

Oliveira becomes the first champion in UFC history to lose his belt on the scale.
