UFC president Dana White is now among those who are interested in seeing a 53-year-old Mike Tyson come out of retirement to fight again, despite previously saying he was fully against the idea. White tells ESPN that he’s confident Tyson will in fact be making a return to the ring in the near future and says the former heavyweight champion already has something ‘lined up’.
White, of course, didn’t offer any particulars, but did say he supports Tyson’s return effort as he’s been impressed with the way Tyson has been looking on social media recently.
“From what I’m hearing from them, they have something lined up, something big. He’s going to get in there. We talked about it and he said, ‘Listen, I feel that fire in my stomach. I want to get in there and mix it up again.’ I’m fully supportive of him.”
Tyson hasn’t fought professionally since losing back-to-back fights against Danny Williams and Kevin McBride between 2004-2005. And while Tyson indeed looks to be in great shape and condition for a 53-year-old man, he’s still a 53-year-old man, evidenced by him struggling to tear off his t-shirt during this AEW appearance.
