UFC president Dana White has finally accepted that one of his biggest stars – Khabib Nurmagomedov isn’t coming back in the Octagon.
“The Eagle” announced his retirement after defending the lightweight title against Justin Gaethje last year, but the UFC boss was sure he could convince the Russian to come back. 6 months after his last fight, Nurmagomedof met with White and the duo discussed his future, which came out as a permanent retirement. The fighting boss took on social media to announce the news that had a little to none surprise to it.
“29-0 it is. He is 100% officially retired. It was incredible to watch you work, Khabib. Thank you for EVERYTHING and enjoy whatever is next my friend”, White wrote.
