UFC President Dana White said that it might take a while in order to see Yair Rodriguez in the octagon again.
The last time we saw the 28-year-old was back in November 2019 when he beat Jeremy Stephens via UD.
A bout between Rodriguez and Zabit Magomedsharipov set for August was cancelled due to a broken ankle suffered by “El Pantera.” But recent photos of Yair back in the gym and training led a reporter to ask White about his status.
“Yair? Have we not talked publicly about that?” White asked his assistant off camera. “Why not?”
“I don’t think he’s going to fight soon. We didn’t announce it, I don’t know why we didn’t but yeah, I don’t know what the deal is,” White said cryptically. “It’s none of my business what’s going on there. So when it comes out, it comes out. It’s none of our business, none of the UFC’s business. When they figure it out they’ll let us know.”
In 2018 Yair and White butted heads and the main man accused the fighter that he is turning down too many fights.
