Former WBC super-middleweight champion David Benavidez will be making his return to the ring on March 13.
Benavidez, 24, will be squaring off against Ronald Ellis, as the location of the bout yet to be determined with Connecticut being the favorite for now.
“Red Flag” last fought in August when he defeated Roamer Alexis via RTD. The fight was for the WBC strap, but unfortunately for Benavidez, he couldn’t make weight and was stripped of his world title.
That was the second time he had to relinquish the green and gold belt. In 2018 Benavidez was stripped because he tested positive for cocaine.
Ellis Ellis (18-1) enters the bout with two straight wins after his majority decision loss to DeAndre Ware in 2019.
