Derrick Lewis finishes Chris Daukaus in the opening round

Former UFC heavyweight title challenger Derrick Lewis is back to wining terms following his UFC Vegas 45 triumph over Chris Daukaus.

“The Black Beast” KO’d his adversary in the opening round of the main event, becoming the all-time UFC leader in KO victories (13).

Daukaus was using his speed and footwork in the early going, looking to land low kicks. Lewis was calm and was waiting for his moment which came in the middle of the round.

Derrick launched a flurry of punches that hurt Daukaus along the cage. Daukaus somehow recovered, but Lewis leveled him with three brutal right hands that slept Daukaus.

Daukaus, 32, was on a five-fight winning streak prior to the fight with Lewis.
