Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone booked vs. Joe Solecki for FURY Grappling 3

Donald Cerrone is back. Well, sort of.

Thursday, “Cowboy” Cerrone will return to action, but not inside the UFC cage. Instead of facing fellow UFC fighter Joe Solecki in an MMA fight, Cerrone will partake in a grappling match at FURY Professional Grappling 3.

The open-mat event takes place at 2300 Arena in Philadelphia and streams on UFC Fight Pass. A match between UFC middleweights Phil Hawes and Andre Petroski has also been added to the card.

Cerrone has not competed in mixed martial arts since he lost his fifth fight in six appearances when he was finished by Alex Morono via strikes in May. On Dec. 19, Cerrone grappled Craig Jones at Combat Jiu Jitsu Worlds 2021 and lost by rear-naked choke.

Solecki most recently competed in the UFC this past October when he lost as split decision to Jared Gordon. On Dec. 12, Solecki competed in the UFC Fight Pass Invitational grappling tournament and drew with fellow UFC fighter Gregory Rodrigues.

FURY Professional Grappling 3 will mark a return of sorts for Solecki, who competed for CFFC during his rise through the regional scene.

With the addition, the FURY Professional Grappling 3 lineup includes:

Rose Namajunas vs. Danielle Kelly Sean Brady vs. Craig Jones Clay Guida vs. Billy Quarantillo Chase Hooper vs. Renato Moicano Steve Mowry vs. Nicky Rodriguez Kevin Holland vs. Kody Hamrah Neil Magny vs. Joaquim Silva Eddy Torres vs. Alex Caceres Phil Hawes vs. Andre Petroski
