Former unified lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko will be fighting again this year after he returned earlier in 2021 with a stylish win against Masayoshi Nakatani.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist will be fighting against another former world champion in the lightweight division – Richard Commey. The bout will be taking place on December 11th in New York, US.
The negotiations between the two parties have been going on for over a month, but now there’s finally an agreement between Loma’s people and Commey’s representatives.
Lomachenko was chasing a rematch with Teofimo Lopez, but the American doesn’t want to hear about it. Lopez secured a fight with vasyl in first place after he defeated Ghana’s Commey in 2019.
The 34-year-old Commey hasn’t fought since February 2021 when he defeated Jackson Marinez via KO.
