Former GLORY Lightweight and Featherweight Champion Robin van Roosmalen has lost his sister and is seriously injured.
Vechtsport Info reports that van Roosmalen was injured in a car accident in Nieuwegein. A 29-year-old woman has died and it’s being reported that she was van Roosmalen’s sister. It’s being said that the car holding van Roosmalen and his sister was hit by a truck. The driver has been arrested.
Beyond Kickboxing notes that there are no further updates on van Roosmalen’s condition at this time.

In his kickboxing career, van Roosmalen has amassed a record of 51-18. As mentioned, he captured GLORY gold in two weight classes. He signed with Bellator MMA back in 2019. He was scheduled to fight Cris Lencioni in October but he missed weight and was forced to move up to lightweight. His promotional debut was then halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The last kickboxing bout for van Roosmalen took place back in September 2018. He is 2-0 in MMA with both wins coming by way of knockout or TKO.
