UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has had a successful knee surgery earlier this week.
The 35-year-old suffered a torn MCL and damaged ACL prior to his heavyweight title defense against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 but still battled on to win a unanimous decision.
“The Predator” himself provided an update on his condition days after he underwent the surgery in a Los Angeles.
Knee surgery went very well today ( ACL reconstruction and MCL repare).
PS: no meniscus damage 🙏🏽
Thank you to Dr Alattrache and staff for taking great care of me.

There’s no time-table on his return, but many people believe he won’t fight in 2022 again. As of now, Ngannou is out of contract and there’s a possibility he vacates the UFC belt if his financial demands don’t match UFC’s side.
