Fury – Whyte purse bid once again delayed

A second postponement of the rescheduled purse bid for the right of the potential WBC heavyweight championship fight between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte is in full effect.

The second delay comes as the WBC continues to sort out several moving parts, including an official appeal from Whyte regarding the assigned purse split. A ruling by the WBC on December 30 called for Fury (31-0-1, 22KOs) to receive the favorable end of an 80/20 split should the all British-heavyweight battle head to a purse bid hearing.

Now the purse bid has once again been rescheduled – this time for January 23rd.

“The Body Snatcher” and his team believe he deserves more money than the 20% he’s been offered right now and this should suit him more than Tyson Fury.

Meanwhile, Fury’s side has mentioned several alternate opponents, including Helenius and former secondary WBA heavyweight titlist Manuel Charr. Nothing can be decided until at least Friday, whether through a purse bid hearing or the next update in this ongoing saga.
