WBA interim lightweight champion Roland Romero will get a second chance to fight one of the biggest stars in today’s boxing – Gervonta Davis.
The pair was scheduled to fight on December 5th, but Romero got accused with sexual allegations and was pulled off the fight. Instead, “Tank” fought Isaac Cruz who did a great job, but ultimately the refs gave the W to Davis, even though he didn’t deserve the win.
Both Davis and Romero are under contract with Mayweather Promotions which means the fight will surely gt made. Still, WBA gave them until February 24 to make a deal or else a purse bid will be staged.
Romero hasn’t fought since July 2021 when he beat Sweden’s Anthony Yigit via TKO in the seventh round.
