GLORY announces its return to the GelreDome in Arnhem, Netherlands for back-to-back events. GLORY 79 will take place on 23 October 2021, followed by GLORY 80 in early 2022. 27,000 fans will be welcome to attend each event.
Originally set to take place in March 2021, GLORY’s return to the GelreDome unfortunately had to be postponed due to the pandemic. Now rescheduled for GLORY 79 on October 23, the event will mark the promotion’s first appearance at the Gelredome since GLORY: Collision 2 in December of 2019 where Rico Verhoeven succesfully defended his heavyweight champion’s belt against a determined Badr Hari. GLORY: Collision 2 was a landmark sports event that set new records for gate, attendance and viewership in the Netherlands and Europe.
“We are delighted to return to the place where we hosted our biggest event. To now join forces with the GelreDome in welcoming nearly 30,000 fans again is something we have been looking forward to for a long time. GLORY 79 promises absolute fireworks, with fights that everyone in the world will want to watch. We can’t wait to give the fans what they’ve been waiting for. As you can imagine, the fight cards will be tremendous to match the size of the arena” said Scott Rudmann, Executive Vice Chairman of GLORY.
The headliner, fight card names and ticket sales information for GLORY 79 in Arnhem will be announced in the coming weeks, including details of any health and safety requirements needed due to coronavirus.
