Tokyo 2020 wrestling’s tournament gave the fans a trilogy between two of the most dominant wrestlers in the freestyle discipline – the 2012 Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder from the US vs. the 2016 Olympig gold medalist Abdulrashid Sadulaev from Russia.
The two monsters colided for a third time in the 97 kg final in Tokyo with ‘The Russian Tank’ losing their first meeting but won two straight matches and gained the 2-1 series advantage after securing a 6-3 finals win.
Sadulaev, the now-two-time Olympic champ and Snyder are seeded first and second, respectively, at 97kg for the upcoming World Championships in Oslo, Norway (October 2-10). They’ll meet for a fourth time if they stay undefeated until the finals.
