The 2006 K-1 World Grand Prix tournament was the 14th annual event that included 8 of the best heavyweight kickboxers.
Once again, the world kickboxing elite was gathered under one roof to produce another portion of historic and non-stop action fights.
Semmy Schilt, Ernesto Hoost, Peter Aerts, Jerome Le Banner, Chalid Arrab, Glaube Feitosa, Ruslan Karaev, Stefan Leko and Remy Bonjasky all managed to qualify for the quarter-finals.
The 2006 tournament will always be remembered as Ernesto Hoost’s last dance. “Mr. Perfect” called it a career following his semi-final loss to none other than Semmy Schilt.
It was by far one of the most emotional and historic battles between those two legends of pro kickboxing and if you missed it, now it’s your chance to see what exactly we are talking about.
